Lower Body Lift (Belt lipectomy)

Patients that have loss a massive amount of weight often retain a significant amount of excess skin and hanging fat along their abdomen and outer thighs. This excess skin can wrap around to the back as well. A traditional tummy tuck will fail to address the thighs and back, and will be insufficient.

By removing skin and fat all the way around the lower abdomen and back, the natural contour of youth can be restored. In addition, by utilizing liposuction, the outer thighs can be defatted, and pulled upward in a very pleasing fashion. Often times, the patients own tissue can be used to augment the buttocks, also improving its appearance.

This procedure typically takes 4-5 hours, general anesthesia, and requires an overnight stay. Only nonsmokers who are healthy enough for surgery will be candidates, and usually require medical clearance from an internist.
