The initial signs of aging that develop in the late 20s and early 30s are that of small wrinkles that develop around the eyes (laugh lines or crow’s feet), in between the eyebrows (frown lines) and on the forehead.
These early signs of aging can addressed with Botox (botulinum toxin), which temporarily paralyzes certain muscles in the face in a very controlled fashion. Results usually appear in 2-7 days, and typically last 3-4 months.
Wrinkles that develop around the mouth typically are not improved by BoTox, but require replacement of volume to flatten out the wrinkle. Hyaluronic acid (Restylane, Juvederm) has proven successful at plumping out these wrinkles for 3-5 months. Other, more long-term fillers also exist for select patients. Dr. Gordley will assist you in choosing the correct treatment plan using these agents.
